Full of Meat
クリスマスディナーのメインディッシュ。それまでに前菜・パスタもしっかりいただいたので、さすがに全部は食べきれず。でも美味しくいただきました。
This was the main dish of our Christmas Eve dinner. We were almost full with antipasto and pasta by then, so we could not eat them all. But we enjoyed the taste of meat.

Istanaの前の花です。標準ズームの望遠端で寄ってみました。マクロにはとうてい及びませんが、背景はそれなりにボケてくれました。

シンガポールには首相と大統領がいます。首相は執政の最高責任者、大統領は国の代表です。Istanaは大統領官邸。11月の一般公開の際に訪れてみました。内部は撮影禁止でした。
Singapore has prime minister and president. Prime minister is a head of government, while president is a representative of the nation. Istana is the house of the president. We visited there when it was opened to public in November. Photo of inside the house was not allowed.
New Year’s Wishes
2014年も始まって１週間が経ちました。
毎年のようにカメラを買っているので、今年は買い控えたいなと。もし買ってしまった場合は手持ちのうちの１台は手放すしかないなと。
異国での生活にもだいぶん慣れてきましたし、今年は写真以外に何か新しいことへのチャレンジを始めてみようかと計画中です。
1 week has passed since year 2014 started.
I bought new cameras almost every year, but I want to refrain from it this year. In case I buy, I need to sell one of cameras I currently have.
Given that I am more accustomed to the life here, I am planning to start something new challenge besides photos. Let's see how it goes.
My Photo Life in 2013
2013年という年は私にとって大きな変化の年となったわけですが、それに伴いカメラ・写真との付き合い方も大きく変わりました。
まず機材ですが、シンガポールに移る際にそれまでもっていたカメラを大幅に整理し、OM-D E-M5に一本化しました。次に被写体ですが、四季の変化がないのは被写体を非常に限定してしまうということを感じています。日本では季節ごとに違う風景や植物があり、同じ人物や場所であっても季節が変わればまた違う写真が撮れます。こちらではそのようなことがないので、違う場所に赴くしかありません。
とにかく持ち歩かないと意味がない、ということでOM-Dよりさらにコンパクトで画質もさほど妥協しなくて済むNEX-6の追加購入となりました。狭い国ではありますがまだ行ってない場所もたくさんありますし、来年はもっとNEX-6を持ち歩いて数多く写真を撮りたいものです。
2013 was a year of big changes for me. It also changed my way camera and photography life.
In terms of camera, upon moving to Singapore, I sold many cameras I owned and brought only OM-D E-M5 with me. In terms of objects for shooting, I am feeling that this country without four seasons really limits things I can shoot. In Japan, change of seasons offered me variety of photos even with the same people and places. Here what I can do to take different photos is to visit different places.
The only solution is to always bring camera, hence I added NEX-6, which is further smaller than OM-D without too much compromising the photo quality. Singapore is a small country but I still have many places I have never been. In next year, I want to take more photos with bringing NEX-6.

まるでペリカンが水浴びしてるみたいです。
It looks as if pelicans are taking shower.

ペリカンの銅像の周りにペリカンが集まっていました。仲間だと思ったのかな？
Pelicans were gathering around the statue of pelican. Maybe they thought it is their friend?
Peeping Ostrich
ダチョウさん、ずっと柵の裏側から動かないんで、頭だけしか撮れませんでしたよ。
The ostrich was staying the other side of the fence, so I could only see its head.
Crowned Pigeon
カンムリバトって言うそうです。初めて見ました。体は地味で頭だけクジャクって感じです。
I saw crowned pigeon for the first time. Body is plain, only head looks like peacock.
